Lindsay Lohan Drunk driving citation
Lindsay Lohan has been cited for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol today and was slightly injured when her convertible struck a kerb in California, police said. Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, in the early hours of the morning, Sgt Mike Foxen said.
“She was cited and released because she has been admitted to a local hospital for minor injuries,” Foxen said.
No one else was hurt and no other cars were involved, Foxen said. He did not have other details.
Officers went to the scene after receiving an emergency call about the accident, Foxen said.
Lohan will have to appear in court to answer the citation, he said.
The arrest was first reported on the website of X17 Inc, a celebrity photo agency.
The crash was Lohan’s third accident in about two years. In October 2005, Lohan and a passenger received minor injuries when her convertible hit a van in West Hollywood. Authorities said the van driver, who also received minor injuries, was at fault.
Months earlier, Lohan collided with a minivan when she made a U-turn as the van, carrying paparazzi, followed her from a Los Angeles restaurant. The photographer was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon but prosecutors declined to charge him.
That crash was credited with prompting California Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign a law that set steep financial penalties for paparazzi who commit assaults while trying to obtain celebrity photos.
Lohan publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik did not immediately return an email requesting comment.
Lohan said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation centre for alcohol treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Lohan told Allure Magazine during an interview for its May issue that she decided to enter the secluded Wonderland Centre, an addiction treatment facility, at the suggestion of her therapist.
“It’s so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab,” Lohan told the publication.
Lohan’s latest movie, Georgia Rule, is in theatres now. The actress’ other screen credits include Mean Girls, Bobby, A Prairie Home Companion and Freaky Friday.

Signe Dupuy alleges Lohan and minder Jaz ran into her in Los Angeles in April 2006.
She claims Lohan glared at her, Jaz was hostile and the pair gave her false names before driving off.
Dupuy is taking Lohan to the small claims court - after several failed attempts to contact Lohan, reports TMZ.com.
Lohan's representative claims the letters were received and "filed away", telling TMZ: "I assumed the letter was sent to (Lindsay's) lawyers. That's what they're paid for."

Village Voice gossip monger Michael Musto appears naked on the newest issue of Village Voice, spoofing the Bert Stern shots for New York magazine of Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn Monroe.
Musto posed in a blond wig, biting at a pink scarf, for photographer Howard Huang. Musto noted to New York Post, "Lindsay did 250 crunches the night before her shooting. Well, I did 250 Nestle's Crunches."
Musto writes in the Village Voice, "I've long lived quite dangerously myself, and so, anxious to share my desperate man-tits with an audience beyond Chelsea, I gleefully agreed to star in an homage to an homage: Musto as Lohan as Marilyn. Lindsay Lohan's latest rampage ended in an arrest yesterday. It seems Lohan was chasing the mother of her assistant that she fired earlier that day. Lohan chased the mother into a empty parking lot one block from the Santa Monica police station at 1;30 am, the mother called the police 911 fearing for her safety.
The reason Lohan was chasing her assistants mother was not immediately clear but then again what is with Lohan and her behavior.
America's fallen sweetheart, was arrested for the second time in as many months on DUI charges, driving on a suspended license and suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. If nothing else, Lohan is consistent.
Lindsay should get a refund for the cost of the rehab she just left a few days ago. Apparently rehab brainwashing didn't take because she is already partying again. Besides as everyone knows, rehab is for quitters.
Sources close to Lindsay said, "she was doing so good until she wasn't, then it all went to hell. Lindsay is a very competitive person and she isn't going to stand still for Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie getting all the attention with their legal grandstanding."
A Santa Monica police officer said, "we could have overlooked the cocaine, DUI, and suspension but when Lohan started propositioning us, that was the last straw. She was batting her eyes at us and making suggestive undulating movements with her hips while taking the sobriety test. I mean that girl was totally naked under her clothes, we found that very disturbing."
Yes, after extensive examination it was determined, Lohan was totally, shamelessly, naked under her clothes and that fact was the deciding factor police used to incarcerate her.

Lindsay Lohan will soon be among the dead.The 21-year-old actress is slated to report to a morgue for two days as part of a court-ordered program to show DUI offenders the real-life consequences of drinking and driving, her attorney said.
Lohan will also spend two days working in a hospital emergency room as part of the program.
At a progress-report hearing Thursday, Lohan's attorney Blair Berk told the judge the actress was on her way to fulfilling the terms of her plea bargain stemming from two DUI arrests, stating that Lohan had already spent two months in rehab and performed some community service, including work for the Red Cross.
The Mean Girls star also served 84 minutes in the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, in November.
Lohan was not present at Thursday's hearing.
Following her dual booze-fueled driving arrests in May and July, the actress pleaded no contest to being under the influence of cocaine, driving with a blood alcohol level of over 0.08 percent and reckless driving.
She was sentenced to 36 months of probation, 24 hours in jail, an 18-month alcohol education program and 10 days of community service.
Lohan's next progress report hearing is scheduled for July 15. She is not required to attend.
Meanwhile, Lohan recently caught a break with regard to another legal matter on her docket.
An appellate court ruled last week that her pending deposition about an October 2005 car crash would not be caught on tape—at least for now.

The Mean Girls star said: “I was so used to working and working and working, and for a good few months there was nothing for me to do. Now I know what it’s like to be an out-of-work actor and how much it scares me.”
